AGIOS ANTONIOS

Every place has a registered mark, a starting point. A point that defines its style and character.

In Sarti this point is found at the beginning of the old village. The imposing old school of the village dominates there. Built by the first inhabitants of the village, it is the oldest building in the area and a direct link to its past. It no longer houses classrooms but carries the cultural burden of the place. On the ground floor there is a folklore museum which we highly recommend you to visit, while, on the first floor, traditional dance and music lessons take place. Just a few meters from the old school is the chapel of Agios Antonios.

“Agiantonis” as the locals call it. Built on a hill above steep cliffs, it offers stunning views, on one side the lacy coastline and the proud Athos on the other. Listen to the waves in the evening, enjoying the glow of the flickering lights. Maybe if you’re lucky enough the full moon will find you there, offering a magical visual experience.

Sarti has more to offer than just the beautiful beaches. The natural and cultural environment are intertwined, creating a combination that can leave no one unmoved.
